Red Thread To China 2007

6 years ago today I married the love of my life. And I want to take the time to thank my wonderful husband for the 6 plus wonderful years we have had together. He is the greatest. We have had some really rough times in this short period of time, from losing both my parents within 3 years of each other to Jerry losing his dad and grandmother, Jerry being gone to Iraq for 18 months and waiting so long to become parents to our precious child from China and various other small things that have happened. But we also have had some great times together as a family and a couple. And I can truely say that building our dream house is one of the greatest and also one of the most stressful times. But it is finally coming to a close. We have most of the stuff out of storage and in our living room. Yes the livingroom because the carpet hasn't been installed yet. They sold us carpet that they didn't even have in stock!!!! So now we have to wait until sometime this week, keep your fingers crossed. Hopefully by tomorrow night we will be sleeping in our own bed in the new house. I have taken pictures and will post them when I have the time. Right now we are way too busy to stop. Today was the start of something not so fun. We started painting today. Well we had some problems to start off.... the paint sprayer we borrowed from Jerry's job didn't work too well. Just splattered on the wall. So we got fed up and went to Lowe's and bought a $200.00 sprayer. It worked so well. My son painted almost the entire upstairs in just a few hours. It was definetly worth the added expense. Then Jerry and I stained the concrete floors downstairs. It took us about 4 plus hours to finish them. I think once we get the sealer on tomorrow they will look great. Our bathroom is where we started and we experimented until we came up with a pattern we liked. So our bathroom doesn't look as good as the rest of the house. We got done around midnight. So boy are we tired and sore!!!!! Did I mention that I am way too old for this. This better be the last house we build. I will post pictures of the floors when I remember to bring the camera done to the house. Check back for more updates.

Well everyone the house is coming along great. We now have the electricity and water hooked up!!!!! Yeah!!!! We still have a lot to get done but we both are taking this week off to get it all done and moved into by next weekend. I can't wait. To finally get Mylie's room started will be the greatest thing. I will be posting the latest pictures of the progress later. Tomorrow I start the painting. That's my least favorite thing to do. Anyway check back later.
