Jerry and I just bought this computer program to help us learn Chinese. So far it is working out pretty well. We can say boy, girl, man, woman, dog, cat, & airplane. It is an awesome program but a little costly... $330.00. But they also give a money back guarantee of 6 months, if you don't feel you are learning what you need to know in that amount of time. I think we will do great, we are going to take it slow so it sinks in. We will keep you posted on our progress.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE!!!!! We hope this season brings everyone joy, happiness and lots of good fortune.
Love,

Hello Ya'll

This week did not start out well..... Tuesday my 2 older kids were on the way to the bank and were in a car accident. They are both a little sore but are fine. Charla's car on the other hand is not so good. Probably totalled. The lady that hit her has no insurance and warrants out for her arrest. Go figure... You try to do the right thing and have full coverage insurance and take care of your business and someone hits you and you have to pay because they are driving illegally. Just makes me angry.

On a better note we finally put in our SN application with our agency. We have been talking about this since starting the paperchase and finally applied. I just hope our house is finished before we get our referral now. We do have the land in our name now and the pre application for the house will be turned in tomorow. We have been having some bad luck and I really hope our
luck turns around soon. I have learned that living in a travel trailer is no fun after the first weekend.

Have a great weekend everyone.

My new baby.....ELVIS

This is my new baby ELVIS. He is a Toy Yorkie weighing only 1.4 lbs. He is such a good natured pup and Lola loves him.

The GPS unit

Well my wonderful husband braved the dreaded "Black Friday" shopping to go to Wal-Mart to get me a GPS unit that I needed badly...... I am soooo terribly bad with directions. I can take a wrong turn and then get totally turned around, instead of just going back the way I came I think well if I keep going this way I will eventually find a road that I recognize........WRONG!!!! I am not quite sure what kind of affliction you would call it but I definitely have it. Anyway we used it today and it is totally awesome, I feel like we have entered the 21st century. It is wonderful. SO wonderful that my son Marcus decided that he would mess with it and locked it up! I thought OMG we have only had it 1 day and we already messed it up. Luckily he figured out how to reset it and now it is tiptop again. Can't wait to use it again.

Well Friday the 16th was our 7 month LID anniversary. As usual we went to eat Chinese food to celebrate. I love Chinese food!!! The day couldn't go by fast enough. We were going to go to the movies also but it didn't start until midnight and I had to work Saturday, so that wasn't happening. It was a great day anyway.

So now let me tell you about the newest member of the family. As some of you may know when me moved to Paradise our 2 oldest children stayed behind in Weatherford and are living in an apartment. Well they took thier chihuahua's with them. And much as I hate to admit it I miss them. So even though I said that I didn't want any animals in the house I have been wanting a Yorkie for some time. We were going to Wal-Mart the other day to get a few groceries and there they were in the parking lot..... a couple selling Yorkies!!!!!! Well I guess I wore Jerry down because he actually said get one not no you don't need another dog. I was shocked to say the least. So here we are with a miniature yorkie that we named Elvis ( I think ). He is just the cutest little puppy in the world. I will post pictures when I get new batteries for the camera. He is so sweet but mischevious also. He is always into something. Lola our mini schnauzer doesn't know what to think of her yet, she tries to play with him but ends up knocking him across the yard.

One more thing, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY LITTLE SISTER!!!! She is 41 today.

MIni Vacation

Today was the 7 year anniversary of the first day we met. It's hard to believe that it has been that long. Jerry took me to a great Bed & Breakfast down in Glen Rose, Texas. It was awesome!!!! It was called Bussey's Something Special. We stayed in the room they call The Cajun Cowboy Bunkhouse. The room was great. It was decorated in a cajun/western theme. There was a small kitchenette, bathroom and living room/bedroom area. It was so nice to get away for a couple of days. We have been so busy with the house and everything that we have forgotten to take time for ourselves. It was so restful. We went to so many antique shops and had so much fun. We found alot of neat things and went to a place called Fossil Rim animal park. I got to feed the animals, it was cool because they would come right up to your car. A few of them even stuck thier head in the window and tried to lick me. Jerry laughed so hard watching me squirm in my seat trying to get away from them. I would reccomend staying there if anyone would like some rest and relaxation. We will definetly visit again in the future. When I get the photos back, I will post some of the room.

Take care everyone.

Wow, this is awesome. I have internet again after 3 weeks. For those of you who don't know we sold our house and are living in our travel trailer until our house is built. It is quite the experience let me tell you. We should have things ready to start on the foundation before the end of the month.... everyone keep your fingers crossed. the builder has the plans now and should have all the bids by the end of next week, so we can go to the bank. We hope to be in the house in 6 to 8 months. This is our goal because unfortunately Jerry will be headed to Iraq again next year, probably in September 08. So he will be gone for another year. Anyway I will post a picture of the house in the near future for eveyone to see. I am excited and scared at the same time. In the mean time I have been keeping very busy with trying to establish a small yard for all my plants and starting on my 100 good wishes quilt for Mylie/Levi. Will post more later.

It has been awhile

WOW!!!! Has it been awhile since I posted. Well the internet was down because we moved it and the satellite had to be re-positioned. They are coming out today to set up the new pole and get it going......keep your fingers crossed. I can only get on certain sites at work and this is the first time I could access blogger. They might restrict it after this......... Anyway where we moved the travel trailer that we are living in temporarily until our house is built there are so many trees that the satellite can't get over the tops of the trees, so we are going to have to mount it quite a ways away. So that means we have to dig a ditch across our make shift yard across the gravel drive to the other side of the field to mount the satellite on a telescoping pole so that we can get reception. No offense to anyone but I sure do feel like I could be one of those rednecks that Jeff Foxworthy always talks about. You might be a redneck if......you live in a travel trailer with a dirt yard, a shed for a closet and your internet cable running across your yard!!!!!!!
Man I hope we can start on the house soon. We are working on the dirt part of the yard this weekend, hopefully laying some sod.

The part of property that we are building on has never been cleared or anything, so we have alot to do to get grass established and brush clearing. But it is coming along. I have been meaning to post some pics, but haven't had the time or internet to do so yet. I will work on that soon.

Everyone have a great weekend!!!!!!!

Things are moving along

Hey all,

Check out Charla and her friend with the dynamic duo!!!!! And oops the picture of the ladybug photo holder is sideways....by the way the happy camper there is my DH Jerry and our baby Lola.
Well things are finally coming along. The well is installed and working........can't believe it. And we have water and electricity to one of our storage buildings so this weekend we can move the travel trailer down closer to where the house is going to be. The contractor has the plans and is working on them making the adjustments to them that we made. We then have to go into the loan phase. Wish us luck.

P.S. I recieved my secret pal gift for September. I recieved some nice things. This really does make the time go faster. Thanks to everyone that comments and views my blog. Reading them makes my day.

My MIL got the cutest ladybug halloween costume for Mylie. And she bought this cute yard decoration.. it is a ladybug that spins around. And check out this photo holder that our friend Vilia bought us. Too cute.

Well everyone take care and post ore later.

Love to all,

Sandi & family

One day at a time!!

Well I have been kinda down lately. The wait seems to just be getting longer and longer. I know we really haven't been waiting that long but just the thought of having to wait 3 years to finally meet our baby is a little depressing. But I guess thats what God has in store for us at this moment. He has the plans for how this journey will end not us.

On a happier note my mother in law bought the cutest bib and hat today for the baby. They are so adorable. She also found a cute burp cloth with a ladybug embroidered on it........too cute!!! She also couldn't leave daddy out she had to buy one for him to use when he has the baby, and it has the Texas Longhorn on it of course. My sister Regina bought me some cute ladybugs too. I really appreciate everything. Makes me teary-eyed everytime I buy or recieve something like that.

I know that we have a long time to wait but recieving these types of things for the baby just makes it more real for me. He or she will be set when we do get to finally meet. And I found the cutest crib, I might just have to buy it too.

That's all for today.

Hi everyone

Well everything here is about the same. Marcus starts school on Tuesday. Jerry is going to register him tomorrow. I sure hope that he does ok with the transition to the new school.

We leave for Omaha on Friday morning to attend my mother's memorial service. Most of the family could not attend the one in Cali so they have organized another there. We won't be staying long.

Tomorrow the electrician will be out to tell us what we need to get that done. Whenever he gets that done and the water well dug we can move down there. Exciting news.

Jerry almost had to go down to the gulf because of hurricane bean. It is set to hit the coast on Tuesday. But since he is a technician he got out of it. Thank god, if he hadn't everything would have been put on hold. Hopefully there is no change between now and this evening when he gets to come home. He has been gone since Friday morning.

4 months since LID

Hi all,

Well it has been 4 months since we recieved our LID. We celebrated as always by eating Chinese today. The wait is getting to me a little, only because of the rumors of a 3 year wait. I can handle 2 years, but 3!!!! I really don't see it coming to that but who knows at this point. We will just have to wait and see. I have kept busy shopping for my secret pal from one of the LID groups I participate in so it makes it a little easier. I hope they like the things I bought.

On a happier note we do have some progress on the house. We have an electric pole set and the electrician will be back monday to put in the breaker box. The water well guy should be here next week too. As soon as we get that in we can move our travel trailer down there close to where the house will be and set everything up. It will be awesome. I can't wait. I don't know what I would do without the support of my family at this time. And now since we have high speed internet I can finally download pictures alot easier.

Anyway thats all for now.

Saturday, August 4, 2007

I am such a bad blogger!!!! I haven't been on here in over 2 months. But we have been very busy with selling our house, which we finally signed the papers on last week. One hurdle out of the way. Then the move was not as easy as I thought it would be. Man I have way too much stuff. I had to really downsize alot. And anyone who knows me knows that wasn't an easy task by no means. So we now have 2 storage buildings and our utility trailer filled with all our belongings.
Who would have thought living in a travel trailer would be this much fun......NOT!!!!!!. It is way too small and sometime claustrophobic. But I keep telling myself that it is only temporary.
On the new house front....... We put in for the electricity and they should be setting the pole sometime in the next 2 weeks. Then we can have the well dug and the septic put in. We will have the house plans ordered today. We are going with a company that builds houses out of a product called poly steel. It is basically a concrete wall with foam on the outside. They are very energy efficient and when done you cannot tell. In other words they look just like a regular house, but the energy bills are cut dramatically. My husbands First Sergeant is the owner of the company and that's how we heard about it.

I will post a picture of the house later......which means when I figure out how to. It is a 2 story home that takes me back a little in time. The way it looks reminds me of the older houses in some small towns. I really love it and the potential for extra space later on is so great.

Anyway I guess I better get ready....we are having gravel delivered for our road back to the house this morning. By the way..... clearing land is definitely no fun if anyone was wondering.

Monday, May 21, 2007

Well, let's see...... This month is so busy. First we took Charla out for her 21st birthday. We went to Razoo's. They sang Happy Birthday to her and made her do the pole dance. We had fun. Kyle graduates this month also, this friday!!!! Woohoo 2 down 2 to go. They plan on moving out together in the next few months or so. He only has one more day of school left. My sister and brother are coming out on Thursday. She will only be here for a couple of days, but that's ok. It will keep my mind off of things right now.

Wednesday, May 16, 2007

Hi all,

Well today is the one month anniversary of our LID date. One month down, many more to go. can only wait for the day when we will finally meet our child. Anything that we have to do is worth it.

Well we did have a couple coming out to look at the house today, but they cancelled at the last minute. Something about thier child and school. They will reschedule though. The realtor said they ar getting many calls about the house from people wanting to move out to this area from DFW. Sounds promissing. We'll see.

Nothing much else going on.

Hague Requirements

We just got the official word that we have to begin the 10 hours of training that the Hague convention will require us to have before we travel to bring our child home. NO Problem!! I know we have a long time to complete this, but I have decided to go ahead and get it out of the way. I just ordered the book from the website. I know it will have alot of information and be beneficial to us as adoptive parents.

I have been busy getting the rest of my squishes out for the last couple of swaps I have been in. It is so great to get them in the mailbox, and I get them almost every day. Makes the wait more bearable. This month is a busy one, can't wait until this one is over.

One day closer

Well today we signed the paperwork to sell the house....one step closer to getting that behind us. And the realtor actually said someone called about the house today!!!! Wow that was fast. Maybe it will sell faster than I think.
Alot going on this month. Charla turns 21 on the 17th, Kyle graduates on the 25th, and my sis comes out this month. Prom was the 5th of May, he looked so cute. I will try to upload a photo, but not sure how to do that. Darn dial up is so slow.......

Saturday, May 5, 2007

I have been on the hunt for clothes for our little one. So far I have only bought girls clothes even though we have requested either gender because most likely she will be a girl. And we figure that we will start a savings account to buy boys clothing if we are blessed with a boy at referral. My husband wants a boy, I am secretly( well not so secretly hoping for a girl). But deep down it doesn't matter what the gender we will love OUR child the same.

With that said I just had to let everyone know that I found the cutest outfit for little Mylie today. I have been buying outfits from 9 months to 24 months for her. I can't help myself, I feel myself pulled to the baby section of every store we go into. Some people say why are you buying things now, it's going to be a long wait. Well for me it makes it more a reality. With the wait so long, I have to keep myself occupied so I don't get overwhelmed and start obsessing about what could go wrong. Anyway as soon as I figure out how to upload photos I will post my pictures of the 100 good wishes qsuares and the outfits I bought so everyone can see.

Thanks for stopping by.....Sandi

We finally have a realtor

Well we finally decided it's time to put the house up for sale. Our realtor seems very optimistic about selling in the next 6 months. I hope that turns out to be the case. I so want to just get this done. In the last couple of months we have had some major stressful situations that have come up and now that everything seems to be calming down, we can concentrate on selling the house. And of course my oldest son is graduating from High school this year and that makes me a very proud and happy mom. 2 down 2 to go!!!!! The house goes on the market Monday the 7th so we will see what happens.

Saturday, April 21, 2007

Well we are finally LID 4-16-07 (log in date). We are so happy to have the paperchase behind us. So now the very long wait begins. It's at about 18 months right now, but it could be longer. But I know that when the wait is over it will be so worth it to hold our new little one in our arms.

I have been through alot these past few years, the los of my father, my husbands deployment to Iraq in 2005, and recently the loss of my mother. But I also have many blessings. Great children, a loving husband, friends, and many new friends that I have met in the yahoo groups. It all makes the wait a little more bearable.
